I'm in the process of reading The Virginia Naturalist by John Trott (1927-2000). John is a rather famous local Naturalist who shared his gift for the outdoors with fans of all ages. This book documents some of his observations. I particularly like the fact that he arranges the book by month and season. As luck would have it, the first Month is March and the season is Spring! It really doesn't matter because you can start anywhere and enjoy his delightful observations.
